I’d rather have zucker over kapanen because even if zuck isn’t finishing he’s back checking and doing the dirty work to make more space for malkin

Purely cap space reasons. I’m confident Kap can turn it around and his QO next year is 800k.

Yeah, no. Zucker isn't worth anything to the Ducks. He's a cap dump.

Okok. The problem with kapanen is after one thing goes wrong he seems to completely deflate. People say sully isn’t giving him any chances when he’s played with Sid and repeatedly with geno. The talent is there but he’s hit a wall

He’s from just outside of Anaheim, once healthy, plug into top 6 next year and get a 2nd for him 50% retained next year or keep him and sign him as a vet for a cheaper AAV.

Fair enough! I think he’s worth keeping IMO. Let another team give him an offer sheet and get the pick or he can accept QO/sign a cheap 1/2 Yr deal, see if he can bounce back

If Marino-Garland gets it done Pettersson + 2nd gets it done. IMO.

No way the Canucks accept that deal. They already have 15 mill tied up in their top two LD. Petts would be a very expensive 3rd pairing guy. I'd love to see it, but it won't happen.
Also, that is way too much for Hagel. Dude is shooting 22% this season. If he starts to regress that's going to suck.

Ducks have players that deserve a Top 6 role over him next year (Zegras, McTavish, Terry, Comtois, Milano, Perreault, Tracey, Henrique and Lundeström deserve it more than Zucker, Getzlaf as well if he returns). There's no space on the roster. And no one's paying a 2nd for him.

Pettersson + 2nd doesn’t get it done because the Canucks have no need for Pettersson. They are set at LD. They will only move Garland or Boeser if they get a good RHD back
