Description
I'd like to see these Red Wings at a particular destination. Less about the values in return and more it would just be fun to watch the players I like on certain teams.

I think the Kings should inquire about Eric Staal for a playoff run. Not sure why they'd have any interest in Marc Staal.

Fair, from what I've seen of the Kings I think he would fit their style of play. Also, think he could be a nice fit on the 3rd pair with some younger D for the playoffs or be a quality 7th defenseman in case of need.

The Kings currently have Anderson, Edler, Bjornfot, and Maatta for their left side, with Moverare and Wolanin available in case of injury. Not sure where Staal would fit.

For that return, might as well just keep both Staal and Gagne...

As for the Colorado trade, I can't see either team willing to do that...

I guess I was figuring with the number of injuries this season & with a couple of waiver exempt D that they might be able to fit him in for the last part of the season. Could just be in the press box for most of it, he has just played well against other Western Conference playoff teams and personally like the fit.

Yeah, I was less concerned about the returns or roster/cap management and more just like the idea of them being on the team. Although I think both Gagner and Staal deserve whatever opportunity they want so getting anything in return is nice if they get the chance to win a cup.

I definitely think Colorado trade would be tough for either team to commit to. But from what I've read it somewhat fits the rumored expected return.

The only waiver exempt guy on the list I gave is Bjornfot, and he's one of the regulars. Edler has been out with a broken ankle for months and just returned to the lineup last night. Wolanin is waiver exempt only because he cleared waivers earlier in the season, and he has since been returned to Ontario due to Elder's return. Moverare is currently up covering for Anderson's injury, and will likely lose his waiver exemption due to the 10-game/30-day rule, so he'd need to clear waivers again to be returned to the AHL, which is unlikely since he has been really good in his 8 games so far.

So assuming Bjornfot, Anderson, and Edler are your defensemen when everyone is healthy and Maatta is the #7 guy, you're still in bind because you need to find something to do with Moverare unless you want to lose him to waivers. You could run with 8 defensemen since several of the young forwards are waiver exempt (which might be what they do), but then there's definitely no room to acquire another depth defenseman.

If LA goes out and acquires a top-pairing LHD like Provorov or Chychrun as they're reportedly shopping for, then you can afford to lose one of Maatta or Moverare to trade/waivers, because then Bjornfot becomes the #7 defenseman.

Either way, there's no room for another depth guy on the roster.

Very light values on Namestnikov and Staal.
Don't like the bertuzzi trade. Need to see a 23 1rst in there. If we know Byram's concussion issues are behind him the trade looks allot better.

Marc Staal will get a 5th rounder and i only see him waiving his NMC for the Rangers or Canes. Namestnikov gets at least a 3rd or Yzerman holds onto him if not a 2nd. No thanks on the Bertuzzi trade Compher is meh and Byram with his concussion issues is a no go. The rest look okay.
