Description
Bouchard needs minutes but the Keith-Bouchard pairing has been an unmitigated disaster. I think those two can rotate in-and-out as needed with Russell and Braun on a matchup-by-matchup basis. Maybe one could bump Bouchard up with Soucy and keep Russell and Barrie together as they've been rather effective as a pair.

Sabres decline. LD and D prospects themselves are set for the next decade and they arent paying to get rid of a rental player, thats unheard of.

Canucks pass. Not a buyer and not for antivaccer like Archibald

Samorukov is more valuable than a bottom pair rental, hence why Buffalo adds a midrounder. The Giroux trade just saw auxiliary bits added with Claude: it turns out the selling team can add value in order to bolster the return of the package.

Totally fine if Buffalo doesn't want any more LHD but you don't need to add a make-believe argument to further sell the point.

Samorukov has no value to Buffalo. He may have value to Edmonton, but hes just another body fighting for 1 NHL spot once they bring in Power after college season ends. So they are paying a fourth to trade the rental, Pysyk. Thats not a make believe arguement

I've already adjusted the trade. Enjoy the deadline.

None of these trades make sense except Soucy. The rest of it is just a lot of crap. Trading a ton of prospects just to trade down from Archibald to Larson just because of vaccine status…. That’s so dumb. This doesn’t really make the team better

The Arizona trade accomplishes the following:
1. Sends Mike Smith into the sun along with his cap hit
2. Adds one of the best defensive bottom-six players in the NHL

I don't care about Archibald's vaccination status. He's not an NHL-calibre player at this point. His performance away from the PK is dismal. Forgive me for wanting a better option on that fourth line.

If Ceci gets hurt there's no RHD in the organization capable of replacing his minutes. Barrie and Bouchard aren't stalwarts in their own end. Braun (or Pysyk) are mandatory.

This absolutely makes the team better. I've offloaded three AHL-calibre players in exchange for cap space and three NHL-calibre players without moving a first round pick.
