Sit Back Chevy

Created by: Jetman
Team: 2021-22 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 21, 2022
Published: Mar. 21, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Nothing else will happen after Beau

We also don't need draft capital and if nothing works out, both Dillon and Schmidt (who have been great players this year) can be traded for a decent haul in the off season

This team also now has three solid lines to score and a great shutdown line

As a Jets fan, realistically our chances of making the playoffs are slim, why would you not try and recoup assets that better positions you to make the team better in the offseason with more draft capital. Stats isnt coming back, Copp is gonna want around $4.5-5M annually and where does he slot in. Do you want him for that money on your 3rd line? Unless your plan is to do a major overhaul and trade Scheifele and Wheeler in the offseason and usher in a new era with Dubby, Ehlers, Connor, and Perfetti as the next face of the franchise then you have to trade Copp. Offers of 2 2nd rounders for Copp should be taken if they cannot get the 1st that they would ideally like.

This, you gotta move them. Sorry but the Jets aren't making playoffs and if Copp and Stastny don't resign that would be a disaster.

Copp 100% needs to go. We can’t afford to keep him and letting him walk for free should instantly cost Chevy his job.

Statsny, I’d like to keep, but if he wants out, then trade him too.

Who cares about 2 2nds. Those picks mean nothing. The Jets need to try to make the playoffs as we need the extra cash that a playoff round makes.

The Jets have a 9% chance as of this morning to make the playoffs You're not in a position to go on a run. Take the step back to take multiple steps forward. The couple extra million you make for only 2 playoff games cause they're gonna have to play Colorado and lets be honest it goes 5 games. Why bother, then you lose these guys for nothing. The 2 2nds might get you another piece down the line or put you in a position to trade a 1st and still have those picks. The franchise is better by dealing the players and having that flexibility. I dont subscribe to the notion that we need to make the money back. We have the richest owner in Canada, money is not an issue.

They're not desperate for cash lol. Plus that is a dumb way to manage assets.

those 2 2nds are about 5 years away and who knows if they will turn out. Copp makes our team better, keep him and resign him for the 5M per.
