If the jets did this, it wouldn’t be a 1 year rebuild, it would be at least 3 before they have the forward help on the top end they’ll need. And that means having helley probably walk after 2 bottom 5 years. Therefore, under this scenario, this team is screwed for not only now, but the next 10 years without hellebuyck

Why is a cap strapped team willingly taking your overpaid defenseman?

Value wise all the trades outside of the Scheifele trade look okay, although I wouldn't do any of them. The Scheifele trade is awful for Winnipeg. Schneider and the first are nice but Kravtsov and Chytil don't have much if any value and kicking in Vesalainen cancels out their value.

The Jets have no reason to sell low on Scheifele.

I realise that that would be a little low for Schifele but those players would bee the main peaces

Edited Mar. 23, 2022 at 11:41 a.m.. Reason: added a thought
I can't see anyone giving you a first for DeMelo, I'm pretty sure that NY isn't giving you Schneider, and I know we won't be giving you a second and a third for Brenden Dillon.

Edit: For some reason I had Logan Stanley in mind when I made the comment about DeMelo. Any team would be thrilled to get DeMelo for a first. He's a perfectly adequate #2RD on a good contract with term.

I could see Schneider, but Kravtsov and Chytil are pretty much worthless in the guise of a Scheifele trade.

Toronto declines, they have made it clear that a 1st round pick is likely not in play
