Description

’m going to outline the situation. Vegas cannot trade for a player on LTIR or fix this mess. You need to have the available cap space to trade for the player then place them on LTIR. So here’s how I would attempt to get the out of the mess. Trade Dadonov to the Devils (if they are not on the NTC). Acquire Jonathan Bernier (who is the same cap hit as Dadonov) and for a player that is injured (and can potentially go on LTIR) but can contribute next year to maximize return (because he’ll be ineligible to play this year). Devils start to maneuver the goalie situation, get a 1st for Zacha, get a pretty good winger for 1 year that they can afford. With this lineup Vegas still has 2.6 milllion in cap space (Martinez activated) so I guess you hope this team can squeeze into the playoffs then activate Stone. Devils fans I know this is a sell but 2023 first round picks are extremely valuable and can be used to take swings in the offseason.
