My guess is that he’s just pointing out that Hedman clearly should have been the first overall pick.

Looking back on it Hedman should've gone first but at the time JT was the right choice for the isles

Pretty sure every management group thinks that every single pick is, “the right choice.” Otherwise they wouldn’t make it. That’s pretty irrelevant for this kind of conversation.
