Gotta score to win

A perfect example of your incomplete thinking. You have to score more goals than the other team to win. You ignore the importance of stopping the other team from scoring. Scoring 2 goals and giving up one is better than scoring 4 goals and giving up five.

If u don’t value scoring, that’s fine
But most of the NHL does
Can’t win a game with no goals

False that I implied that I don't value scoring, false that most of the NHL values scoring to the exclusion of defensive play, and even false that a team can't win a game without scoring a goal -- there's this thing called a shootout, which settles 0-0 or 1-1 or even 2-2 games.

And no matter how long of a reply u type,
I’m not gonna change my mind
Bc u aren’t right 😘😘😘

Well, one of your own fellow Buffalo stalwarts said it best: "Olofsson is one of the worst 5v5 players in the NHL."

A 30goal scorer is more valuable than an average 2nd pair defenseman
And more valuable than Iafallo as well

We disagree i guess
Sorry u can’t get over it, but you’re gonna have to

what season did he score 30 goals? hes had 2 20 13 and 12... never scored 30... like ever in his entire career. SHOCKER you are making false claims... AGAIN. yeah lets go by pace in the past ...

Sheary is a 70 point 30 goal player.... hes never ACHIEVED these numbers but when he's been "healthy" he scored at that pace lol. Olofsson is barely a 20 goal scorer lol barely like he had exactly 20 but yes lets round that up to 30.

If Dumba moves, Fiala won't move and the other way around. I don't think the Sabres have the right pieces but BUF's 2022 1st (#7 atm, but probably in the 8-10 range in the draft) plus a low-level prospect for Fiala would make sense IMO. I doubt BUF does that, though.

Sabres have FLA and VGK 1st. FLA 1st and a prospect makes sense

See, when you advance patently incorrect characterizations like "30-goal scorer" and "average 2nd pair defenseman," it makes you look like you don't know anything about hockey.

Olofsson has scored 30 goals only once -- in the AHL.

Roy is anything but an "average" 2nd-pair defenseman, as you concede by your placement of him in your first defense pairing in your own team construction above. Next to Rasmus Dahlin, he'd be the best defenseman on your team. Which is why you aren't ever going to get him with a third-line, one-dimensional player like Olofsson, the next Mike Hoffman. And that's if his career arc ever gets as high as Hoffman's once was, which most of us who actually know something about hockey doubt.

And when u act like u know everything,
u sound ridiculous

Healthy Olofsson plays at a pace of a 30goal scorer
And that is something that’s valuable in the league

I disagree with you on how good Roy is

And I’m not the one who proposed this trade,
or wants it

My commenting started bc of your calling Olofsson a 3rd liner
Again, when healthy he plays above that level
And he’s done it on a crappy Sabres team playing on the only line teams had to defend
U can deny that if u want, but it wouldn’t be correct

I’ll leave u to your arrogance now
Enjoy the high horse pal

I am a Sabre fan and just like a broken analog clock with minute and hour hands Buffalove is correct about twice a day.
My frustration level was exceeded and I blocked him AFTER he continued a discussion in which I said he was correct.
In his defense, Olofsson for Roy is a reasonable exchange.
But if the Kings do not need Olofsson, it is not.
As stated earlier, Victor and Viktor will have about the same value.
I do not see the need to trade him currently, he would be a good 2nd line LW on this team behind Skinner.
I do not understand some of the ACGM's, when a person who is familiar with team says no, move on.

One of the best ways to tell that an argument is on shaky ground is when the person advancing it starts making excuses for his position ("on pace for" or citing injuries as a reason for performance shortfall).

Another way is failure to address specific points (time on ice, distribution of playing time, defensive shortcomings, use of silly cliches like "goalies never get that kind of return in a trade" or "scorers are preferred over two-way players" that are so vague as to be meaningless).

And the best way of all is when the speaker admits (knowingly or not) that you're not going to be able to convince him to change his mind.

I stopped getting into food fights on this site.
I state my case, if it is rejected, fine I am wrong.
I will give the responder a like and move on.
I use this site to learn about the Sabres and other teams.
But to carry on for two pages, YIKES!
