I like it. I think a Galchenyuk for Fowler trade might be a bit more realistic since I'm not sure SJ has the depth to cover for losing Vlasic, but I like the idea. I wonder if Colorado would be willing to move Duchene for that price, comes down to their evaluation of Juulsen I guess, let's hope Sakic is very high on him lol.

Fowler certainly would be an alright consolation prize if the Ducks were willing to move him. It really depends on what San Jose wants to do this offseason, as they do have a older core and Jones, Vlasic, Hertl, Couture, and Pavelski all seeing their contracts expire over the span of a year. I'm really not sure what to think about Duchene, as I can't see Bergevin or Francis being willing to move Segachev or Hanifin for him. Perhaps Carolina could land him with Fleury/Bean and their first this year.

Fowler would cost a little more than Galchenyuk most likely. Probably would take Galchenyuk and one of Lehkonen/Sherbak/Mccarron at least.

I'm not sure I agree. Galchenyuk has some deficiencies but he is still a productive LW which is a position of need for Anaheim. He's 0.65 pts/game over the past 3 seasons combined, that would put him tied for third on the Ducks over that time span. He's young and they can sign him to a reasonable medium/long term contract. Fowler is not indispensable since they Have Theodore and Lindholm ready for top 4 roles on the left side, and Fowler only has one year left on his deal and is older than those guys. Would be a fair trade for both teams imo

That's right, what Anaheim needs more of, players they CAN'T PROTECT.

Kovalchuc for just that? No way. 1 star for you.

What do you mean with Anaheim players they can't protect?
