Take the 1st out and swap it for your most average bottom pair defenseman.

Because I'm mad on the internet and have no faith in Guerin to get a good return for a player he doesn't value as he should for whatever reason

I recommend going outside. It's wonderful out there compared to the internet.

17/51*82 = 27.333
13/56*82 = 19.035

We can do raw totals if you want but then I don't think you'd like the return for a 59 point player winger who wants 7M

20 goal scorer imply that he reach that milestone regularly. Not once in covid Season. David Clarkson once score 30 goal that havent made him a 30 goal scorer. And i am pretty sure if Minnesota shop Fiala their will be many suitors who will offer similar return. Fiala has been near the top 50 In points produced over the past 3 season and have similar total then Svechnikov, Nylander and Marchesault so he could target the 7 millions range.

Svechnikov - 21
Nylander - 22
Marchessault - 28 (5M AAV)

Nylander is 25 but I still don't see why any of this means Fiala isn't worth 7M?

Here's a list of Fiala's peers in terms of offensive production in his time with the Wild (playing predominantly with third liners, mind you)

Nicklas Backstrom
Elias Lindholm
Nazem Kadri
Teuvo Teravainen
Alex DeBrincat
Patrice Bergeron
Anze Kopitar
Andrei Svechnikov
William Nylander
Evgeny Kuznetsov
------------------
Nikolaj Ehlers
Patrik Laine
Elias Pettersson
Ryan O'Reilly
Mathew Barzal
Sam Reinhart
Sean Couturier
Tomas Hertl
Pavel Buchnevich
...........................
Tyler Bertuzzi
Timo Meier
Jonathan Marchessault
Dylan Larkin
Claude Giroux
Brock Boeser
Jakub Vrana
Clayton Keller
Taylor Hall
Bo Horvat
Logan Couture

I can go on but at this point any of the players I list won't even be close to matching Fiala's offense. They'd be about as far away from Fiala as Fiala is from Ovechkin, Gaudreau, Mark Stone.

The dashed line represents where Fiala falls, the dotted line represents where I believe the difference starts to get significant

Look at that list and tell me he doesn't have a right to ask for at least 7

I think he IS worth the 7M but it’s why you gonna take a “paced 20 goals in the last two years” return (with a fifth overall pick in this scenario)

Nylander was 22 when the deal was signed, though.

I think the offer is more than fair. I thought you were implying Fiala's on ice contribution isn't worth more than those guys.

Not sure why either, he is just pissed because Zacha isn’t a 20 goal scorer and he got on a rampage about it.
Toffoli was on pace for 50 last yeat no one will call him a 50 goal scorer. It is me who doesn’t get it or?

They are the ages at which the players were signed to their comparable deals. Fiala is older than the 2 7M players and younger than the 5M player. Now, Fiala /is/ worth the 7M based on his last 2 years of production (65 point pace and 78 point pace) but those are the years in which Pavel Zacha paced as 20 goal scorer (27 and 19)

No it was a point about Joblow calling Fiala a 70 point guy (but not Zacha a 20G guy) and age-related contract comparable. Sorry it got a little confusing.

Zacha is as much a 20 goal scorer as Fiala is a 30 goal or 70 point scorer though. I think that's the point. And it's not incorrect.

So he would have reach 20 goal only once is that it? And he become a 20 goal scorer?

And i am not recalling at any point talking about Fiala being a 70 point player. You just made that up in your furious rampage.
