lmfao okay fair. Let me rephrase to say I wouldn't want to pay any 4th liners 3M unless we got one of the best goaltending seasons of all time and no reason not to question our goaltending for the immediate future.

I like it (but I have no clue who those coaches are)

And what's your reasoning for Fiala on the 3rd line and Holtz immediately in the top 6? I feel like Holtz would benefit from playing with Bo and TT and not rushed into the top 6

Lane Lambert is system coach, been a name for HC vacancies for a while. Wroblewski Is head coach for LAK AHL affiliate and former NTDP coach. Tortorella is defensive coach at Harvard and has long track record of developing dmen (Fox, van Riemsdyk, Pesce, etc). Both assistants are known to be fluent in analytics, good at player development, have strengths in special teams.

I *completely* misread that as John Torts lmaooo

I'm not overly interested in Lambert. I do like Wrobewski and now knowing he doesn't mean the Dinosaur complaining about Trevor Zebras on ESPN, am much more interested in Tortorella lmao

Felt like each line has playmaker, shooter, puck retriever. Hughes, Yegor, Mercer….Bratt, Holtz, Nico…Fiala, Tatar, Boqvist. Just seemed balanced.

Not to sure I'd want Ruff to go in this off-season, with league average goaltending he can take this team back into the playoffs.
Ruff's contract is up 2023 anyways.

Nemec wouldn't be a terrible pick at 6, but would prefer Jiricek if still available.

Hoping that Severson's extension comes in under 6m.

I'd be quite annoyed with Fitz if he didn't address the goaltending in the summer.
Daws would be better served having at least one more year in the minors imo.

Lots to like here, agree with most moves, solid AGM.

Think your premise is off.
If Wood remains the same player as he was before his injury, he would be worth all of those 3m and more.
Putting him on the 4th just means that Devils have amazing depth in forward talent, which OP's roster have.
McLeod also meshes very well with McLeod's and Bastian's game, at 5 v 5 Wood'd have the most utility here.

Most depth players with big price tags were worth it at one point. The reality is that they all get worse and they’re perfectly replaceable by cheap AHLers. Not paying depth is a core team building tenet of mine
