I'm not so sure Dallas would be willing to give up a 2nd rounder for a regressing 36 yo defenseman with two more years of a mammoth contract, but maybe Orpik is valued differently in the GMs' circle than in my head. I also do not think Dan Winnik is worth 3 x 2.5m. Seems like a bit much for a 4th liner.

Yeah not the most beneficial for the Stars, but Stars could throw in a prospect with the 2nd round pick and take Grubauer with Orpik. Then Vegas would just take Eller without Caps having to give up extra picks.

In my opinion that's a bit too much going to the Golden Knights as i think they wouldn't rather have Nate Schmidt/Taylor Chorney much more. Too much for Orpik if you ask me but the Minnesota trade seems pretty good to me.

All of these transactions are bad in their own way. Vegas should be taking Grubauer, so what would the point be of us giving them a third round pick to take Eller? Why would we move Burakovsky, someone who has potential to be a 25-30 goal scorer, especially when it leaves our forward group extremely depleted?? I would love Orpik to be gone AND we get a second round pick, but he isn't worth a second round pick if he's playing on a cheap contract, which he isn't. Winnik isn't worth what you have him being paid, and there is no way Kuzy gets more than Backstrom. Also, we would have no money to resign Carlson at the end of this year. Probably the worst possible offseason for us, with the exception of the completely ridiculous Orpik trade
