Doubt CHI trades for Kaapo and then immediately trades him away, especially for no G in return

Why would they immediately trade him away? That's not anywhere in my post.

They initially wanted Kahkonen in the Fleury deal but Guerin has already agreed with SJ and you guys don't have a goalie.

But they aren't giving up Kubs and a 2nd for him. Hawks aren't going to be giving up draft picks given they are rebuilding IMO. We also have dibs on signing Lakinen, Delia which we don't have to give picks for, plus Soderblom in the system. Drew Commesso is the goalie in the system we are of course waiting on in the next couple years as well.

Why trade Kahkonen? I would love to have him if his price isn’t too high. He is going to be a good goalie, and with a little help on the defence, he could post great numbers.

He's not a gamechanger like Reimer. Sharks are going to have him and Hill battle it out over the last 14 games.

Dahlen is pretty good. Young, top six potential.

Interesting, okay. Well, Reimer has a ton of experience in the NHL, so of course he is going to be better and he is going to be able to perform better when there is no help. If you got a good defence man, Kahhonens numbers would change. With that being said, yes, they may battle it out, but I personally think Hill may be the odd man out. Either that, or they want to get something good for Reimer.

Maybe, but still can't see this package making sense for the Hawks.

Reimer calms the Sharks down and makes them play good defense with his excellent communication. We know when Reimer is in net we have a chance to win. Kahkonen had a terrible game on saturday, prbably just growing pains.

Don't see the hawks in the position to be trading picks. Maybe if you wanted Beaudan instead, who is a recent 1st round pick struggling with the hawks

I kind of like the Hawks trade, but I also worry about his regression the last 2 years. and i don’t drink see the Hawks trading away a pick in the middle of a rebuild.

Yah I wouldn’t judge Kahkonen too harshly right now. Being the new guy is never easy. Of course they will trust Reimer more than Kahkonen right now.
