Minnesota and Canes seem to be good partners

Created by: ecupirate07
Team: 2022-23 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 1, 2022
Published: Apr. 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Minnesota gets value and young players who can all join the lineup. Canes get the bonafide LW they need and a good physical defender for the back end.

All three Canes young players agree to a deal before the trade.

Rizzo starts on the roster on day 1 just to allow us to gain cap space during the season. Kochetkov will get some starts during the season so we have space to bring him up too.

The Sellgren and Bokk trades can be to any team. Lafontaine is probably traded too

I think trading necas now would be a mistake, his value is just about as low as it could be. If anything I think his poor year could allow for the canes to get better value on a contract

    I like Bear but I don’t think you’re getting a 2nd and a 3rd even if you’re giving a 6th back

Ottawa declines, Bear while he is good probably wouldn't fit on our blueline and isn't worth what they are giving up for him as he is not going to be used especially with JBD and Thompson coming up on the right side.
    Bobrick liked this.

Canes aren’t trading Necas. Fiala would be a nice add, but it won’t be worth selling Necas, who is at his lowest point value wise. Besides, Canes could go after Forsberg in FA if he doesn’t sign with Nashville. Miller is a pointless addition as we can just bring up Chatfield. Plus, I have had conversations with a few Canucks fans recently that were ok with a package of Bear, Bokk, Suzuki, and a first for JT Miller half retained. If the Cabes can do that, why would they need a 2nd and a 3rd when they are trying to win now?

Kulikov would be a nice add, but Smith has done a really good job in that role, for a bit cheaper. No need to make the position more expensive if we don’t have to. Namestnikov would be a solid Nino replacement, but I think Nino takes a discount to stay and play with Staal and Fast. No need to sign Hayden with Stepan very likely coming back at about the same price. If the Canes are giving DeAngelo a 1 year deal, it won’t be for 5mil. A 2x2 or 3x3 contract are very much more likely to occur, and for a 1 year deal, probably 1x1.5-2.

Deangelo is going to cost alot more than 1-2 mil. I think something around 4x4 is probably a fair offer. I would compare him to the contracts like the ones Tyson Barrie has gotten. He will always have the character knock but that has been a total nonissue while he has excelled in the canes system.

So much wrong with this. Cole isn’t better or cheaper than Kulikov
Canes aren’t going to trade the huge package for a 1 year miller. 2 playoffs, sure.
Chatfield isn’t Miller offensively or defensively.
0 chance TDA signs for that
