Well I was just trying to carry on a tradition of bad deals like Toews for 2 late second round picks and Tavares leaving for no return.

Tavares was the fault of Snow, if he didn't have a signed contract at the deadline he needed to trade him. You cannot rely on the word of a player, or a player rely on the word of a GM. He needed to say either sign or we are trading you and when he did not sign trade him for a 1st and A prospect.

As for Toews Lou and Trotz made a mistake choosing Leddy over Toews. Toews is a legit top pairing D-Man (his numbers would not be this good on the Isles), was younger and cheaper then Leddy. The 2 2nds were fair value at the time though, I do not think anyone thought his offense would be this good.
