2022-23 SABRES V 5

Created by: Boos
Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 11, 2022
Published: Apr. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Until Darcy Kuemper is officially out, I'm gonna continue to put him as the #1 UFA for the Sabres to pursue. Does a 3yr/$18M deal get it done? If not, it should be close and Buffalo needs to work something out with the soon to be 32 yr. old netminder. That is if they believe in the youngins they have now and really want to take a big step forward beginning next season.

RHD Matt Dumba is in many a Wild-fan trade scenario for obvious reasons. Would he waive to go to Buffalo? Who knows but if he did, a $6M rental on a team desperate to move salary doesn't create a lot of leverage for Minnesota GM Bill Guerin. In this trade the Sabres get their RHD for one season (at least) and a versatile bottom-six player who has more scoring acumen than the player they're trading away in Rasmus Asplund.

Why Jay Beagle? Sabres need teeth and attitude. Beagle's got that and although he's getting close to the end, he's got leadership, a Cup ring and a career 56.78 faceoff percentage. Beagle is better than what they have right now at 4th line center and though $2.5M might be a bit high and a 2 yr. deal might be a year too long for a player who will be 37 yrs. old at the start of next season, it might very well be worth it for both player and team.

Colin Blackwell's another one with attitude. He's having a great year with the Leafs and would be foolish to leave but money talks and so would a two-year deal at over $200K more than he's making now.

I get it….. That Minnesota trade must be a joke, or else you forgot to add the vgk 1st also.

6 million wont be enough for us to get Kuemper. He'll get at least 6 from a good team, maybe 6.5.

It most likely starts at 7 million per for us to have a shot.

Strange, the AGM gave minny exactly what minny fans have been asking for, for Dumba on their AGMs.

Minnesota isn't doing this. Guerin doesn't want to trade dumba. Also your value is way off. To think Minnesota would trade dumba and then add jost for that is beyond baf. Dumba also just bought a home here.. so no

No he didn't... a select few doesn't mean a bunch of wild fans...

I'd still pay him $7M. They need to seriously upgrade goaltending. I like UPL and think there's some potential there but imo if they're serious about moving this thing forward beginning next season they need to bring in a bona fide #1.

I agree we need an upgrade. I just fwar for us to have a shot it would be 7.5 per year for 5 or 6 years.

I won't to go after holtby on a 2 or 3 year deal, and make Anderson a developmental coach
