That’s absolutely horrendous for Florida. Weegar is a top pairing dman, he’s worth way more than that

They can't afford him after next year. They also have depth on the right.

unfortunately, he is right. Weegar is a top 30, if not higher, Dman in this league right now, and we are giving a B level prospect and a dman just moved for a 3rd, as well as dead money. Even with Florida being cap constrained this offseason, weegar is someone well worth his money that they are worse without. I don't think they'd move him even for our first rounder. They have other ways to get under the cap ceiling.

I was initially considering Hoglander but got a bit cheap

That would make more financial sense for them, but I still think the value is off. Weegar is a borderline elite defenseman who is criminally underrated. If Florida plans to stay competitive, which they will, they won't be sellers this offseason unless its absolutely necessary - to where guys like Gudas, Hornqvist and Montour would go long before Weegar.

Love weegar, dont think that hes getting moved for anyrthing less than an A prospect and 1st or pair of 2nds
