Yeah, I know, but it is possible, maybe not probable, that the NYR can sign him. I would love to keep Strome, but not sure it is feasible with the cap situation. I just wanted to see what Ottawa thinks Joseph is worth.

Yeah, I see, if Batherson played a full season he could have 30G and 80P, but he's only played 40 games. If Joseph played a full season he could have 14G and 35P. Strome would only have 19G and 57P. Forgetting Strome for a minute, are there any assets on the Rangers that Ottawa would be interested in who are not on the roster?

Ottawa doesn't really need to be trading for non roster players. They need to add to the top of the lineup, not play around at the fringes. I don't really see there being a trade between these teams. The pieces I'd be interested in (Lafreniere and Schneider basically) aren't going anywhere, and the rest largely doesn't interest me so much.

As far as Joseph is concerned, there's no reason at all to move him. They obviously really wanted him when they traded for him, and he came in and was awesome. They haven't seen enough to know what they have, but they've seen enough to know they need to keep him.
