Konecny has not lived up to his potential nor has shown any progression since like 2018. Id rather have a good young defenseman anyway.

He's been our best player since January and brannstorm has been kinda disappointing since being drafted and was already traded once. In 49 games this year he has 13 points and is a - 19

Just to be clear, no

Arizona gets less money and Ottawa gets less term

Brannstrom has only been disappointing to people who overrated him (some kinda expected a Karlsson type apparently)

He is a 22 y/o D-man getting comfortable in the NHL. He doesn't produce a ton of offense yet but he has 26 points in 80 points since 2021 (includes the 2020-21 season)

The +/- is irrelevant on a rebuilding team. He was + 3 last season, which is actually good since the team was still pretty bad defensively overall

That said, I'd pay a bit more than proposed here :

Brannstrom + 2nd for Konecny

I would 100 x prefer to buy out Colin White than getting stuck with Ladd, even if just 1 year

Ottawa is likely to be on Ladd's list of list of 15 teams he can not be traded to, but aside from that, even if Ottawa wasn't, this is the kind of trade a teenager thinks up, it's ridiculous. It's like saying White has zero value, but they really want him.
