Additional Details:

Both Mrazek and Zaitsev are liabilities for the Leafs and the Sens respectively.

Maybe even more so in the case of Mrazek.

So, I'm wondering if it's possible to make a trade involving the two.

Given they both have similar cap hits and term on their contracts.

Additional Details:

The Sens will need a backup goalie in the event Matt Murray can't play anymore.

The Leafs will need someone they can use in their lineup next year.

Maybe if Ottawa retains on Zaitsev, Toronto could throw in a draft pick.

It's just an idea I had.

And if Lassi Thomson is NHL ready.

We would also get one of their second round picks for Brannstrom, who is no longer a fit on our team.

Trade would be based on the Bryan Little trade between Arizona and Winnipeg.

Is it guaranteed that Murray is never going to play anymore, yea Arizona will take him.....for free. They certainly aren't giving up a second for Brannstrom. "No longer a fit on our team", means ...not NHL good enough.

Sens already have 3 goalies on one way deal next year, and all of them have been way better than Mrazek.

I don't think Sandin is offer sheet eligible, due to his not playing enough NHL games in the past two seasons. An expiring ELC contract does not guarantee offer sheet eligibility

Sorry bud....that was other post.....I tried to delete it.

Due to the same term and cap...there isn't trade with Mrzarek and Zaitsev. Leafs can buyout Mrzarek rather cheaply. Sens who have cap, might as well keep Zaitsev, even it is a paper transaction to Belleveille,

Considering Zaitsev requested a trade out of Toronto originally, i highly doubt he'd want to go back. And as a leafs fan, i rather have a russian babushka on the back end than Zaitsev again

Yeah, leafs dont touch that
They arnt moving mrazek to take back a worse contract, if their trading him its to move money, otherwise they are buying him out.
Not to mention zaitsev is a worse defender than mrazek is a goalie

Mrazek posted a 3.34 GAA and a 0.888 save percentage for a team that is making the playoffs.

Zaitsev posted a -5, played 19 minutes a night and killed penalties for a team that is missing the playoffs.

I find your opinion that Zaitsev is a worse defender than Mrazek is a goalie to be rather curious popcorn

Zaitsev is one of the worst defensive players in the entire league, has been for years. Mrazek has been a decent goalie as recently as a season ago and is only so bad this year because of injuries.
Zaitsev is just very very very bad by every single metric that exists
