Hypothetical lines with balance

Created by: YourWinnipegJets
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: May 3, 2022
Published: May 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Obviously everything here is hypothetical but I feel this lineup allows for more balance up and down the lineup and gives u at least three scoring lines, as well as being able to play all four lines consistently (something the Jets have not done all season).

Is Colin Miller or Ilya Lybushkin a top pair RHD? Cause those are the only guys I can see that the Jets might have a chance of getting, if not its run it back with the same defense next season OR acquire one of Chycrun or Provorov if they're available and play someone on their offhand.

I'd say the Jets could've run three scoring lines and rolled four lines all season(and in seasons prior) but they've been coached by guys who can't build a line to save their life and are stuck in the past.

Provorov can play the right side and I don’t know how u come to the conclusion that those two players are the only ones available on the right side

Who's available then? I just don't see who the RHD that'd be available, not trying to be a d!Ck, I just really don't see any true RHD that'll be available.

That’s the whole point of being gm, you gotta make calls. There is ALWAYS players who u laundry think would be available but if u make a call and offer something the team will like it may work out. A perfect example is Paul Stastny. He was never on the trade bait board for the 2018 deadline. No teams thought he was available but the Jets called and made an offer that the blues liked. My point is that u never know until u make calls.

No he wasn’t lol. Go back to all the sources and even some gms said they didn’t know he was available. St. Louis was only a couple points out of the playoffs and Stastny was a veteran on the team and core member on the leadership team

I think Stastny would sign with a contender to chase a cup.

Lyubushkin's analytics show great even strenth defense results. Would be a great signing for the Jets as a 3rd pair guy

Oh I like Lybushkin and he would be a good addition to the Jets defense but everyone wants a top pair RHD and Lybushkin isn't that, I just really don't see any top pair RHD that'll be available and probably not any 2nd pair RHD will be available either.

That’s cap. The Jets could trade shmidt, Stanley, and demelo and they still have enough defence to put in the lineup with Samberg Kovacevic Heinola, etc

I remember hearing it was Armstrong that contacted Chevy about trading Stastny.

I would like it this way my friend:

    Morrissey - Pionk
    Heinola - DeMelo
    Samberg - Lyubushkin

What has happened with Vesalainen? Has he really fallen that far out of favor in Winnipeg?

Altough I like Kovacic I don't think he is the top defensive prospect in the Jets organization. After Samberg and Heinola it's Gawanke

Kovacevic is gonna be the 7 defensemen next year. Next year he can be claimed off of waivers

Yes, he needs a fresh start. He has been given a lot of opportunity and hasn’t ran with it. It’s a shame cuz there’s a lot of talent there but he just has not produced.

I hope this is in case both Dillon and Schmidt are moved. Otherwise I don't see a spot for Heinola and Samberg

That's fair. Seems like a guy for Seattle to snag, would likely get some decent ice time there.

I think that’s still kinda weak. Not a fan of the right side.
    I would prefer more size:

    Morrissey-RHD from trade
    Samberg-Pionk
    Dillon-Heinola/Demelo (trade one of them)

It’s quite obvious at this point of time adding one defensmen like lyubushkin isn’t gonna change anything. The Jets need a overhaul on defence, by adding a top guy and letting more of the young guys play. Lyubushkin is just adding to the log jam of third pairing d man in the system

100000% Samberg plays in the top six next season. He has proved he is a top four d man and him playing in the lineup over Stanley proves the Jets prefer him
