Going to pass on that deal — Comtois can play a similar role and I think he can have a little higher offensive ceiling

as much as i think most of the people on here are overvaluing Middleton's next contract. I cannot imagine he would take 4x1m after playing on the top pairing since getting here. I would love it if we could get him for 3 years at 2 million or 4 years at 2.25 million, but that is probably unlikely.

Fleury is a nice guy, but I doubt he signs for 1m . Gee, you given Kulikov and third away for nothing.

Fluery is on the verge of retiring, i highly doubt he comes back if he doesnt believe they can win, and if he does think they can, he knows his role and will take a discount. Minnesota gains Cap space from Carolina

Jost is a much better player than Fischer in every aspect but hitting.

You'd fight to keep Jost even if it means losing Dumba or Fiala. That's one of the worst takes I've seen. There's plenty of players that can do what Jost does for cheaper

Buddy, one of Dumba or Fiala have to go even if Jost does too. Jost makes 2M. Replacing him with a player making 1M isn't going to let us keep both Fiala and Dumba. That's the stupidest thing you've ever said, and you say a lot of stupid things on here.

Stick to the Sabres. At least you can kind of string together a coherent thought when discussing them, sometimes.

Did you even watch last night's Wild-Blues game? Of course not, if you had you'd understand how wrong you are if you think Fischer is anywhere close to Jost's level.

What a awful take...

Minni doesn't "gain" space by acquiring Gardiner. They lose cap space by trading Kulikov, but then have to find replacement for hm.

Yeah one good game for a career bottom 6 forward, totally should get overpaid

Yeah that replacement is Addison, and you know that gain doesn't mean cap space is added to their cap ceiling, I know you know what im talking about, playing word games doesn't change the fact that putting Gardner on IR facilitates Addison Merrill and Fischer which is worth more than Kulikov

As hard as it is to say, his replacement is already signed. Merrill/Goligoski will fill in there next season.

Even if Kulikov is moved, the Wild still have 6 D-men signed for next year before they've even signed Middleton to an extension.

But no, we don't gain cap space from LTIR contracts. If they did, we'd probably of already traded for Weber's contract instead.

I mean we’ll take Kulikov, we won’t need to retain on Gardiner though

Adding Gardiner does not allow the Wild to get more cap space. In effect team have a cap of 82,5m of "active" players. No I wasn't playing word games. LTIR Gardiner is just meaningless in the trade.

You are playing word games. Adding does not mean adding cap to the ceiling. Nobody is trading a pick or prospect for Kulikov, especially when Minnesota needs cap. So now we can see theyre over the cap.

The only thing the LTIR trade does for Minnesota is replacing used cap space with replaceable cap. Seabrook for Johnson deal

Just how idiotic do you intend on making yourself sound?

Jost:
Age - 24
Games - 342
Goals - 47
Assists - 62
Points - 109
Plus/Minus - 10

Fischer:
Age - 25
Games - 318
Goals - 43
Assists - 41
Points - 84
Plus/Minus - -53

Jost is a year younger, can actually play up in the lineup if he has too, as in actuality a middle-six player, and does not look out of place on the top line with Kaprizov. Who he played with briefly while Zuccarello was out due to injury and looked good there. But his sound defensive two-way game means he can , yes, be trusted to play in the bottom six. His game, however, is still better suited to playing up in the lineup, but didn't in Colorado because they're stacked with top-six talent.

You clearly have never watched him play with any shred of regularity if you think he's strictly a bottom six dweller. What a asinine take.

Fischer, is another story. He sucks defensively, is a year older, and couldn't crack the top six on one of the worst teams in the league. And has less career points then Jost and yet he's worth more? Don't make me laugh.
