Overpaid Hyman for his 6 even strength goals and you only sign him for his last 2 years of control, either 1 year or buy out years, not take him straight to free agency. Overpaid Brown. He will never be a $6M winger so why are you jumping him to $3M right away. That's a lot for Brodin. Taking on Kulemin and Halak for no reason makes no sense.

How is hyman overpaid! He was on the pk(relentless), Played great with matthews and nylander and he was one of the dudes always finding them for goals or potential goals. To me he may be underpaid but i'll take that deal anyday

Really? He played great with Auston & Nylander? Had just 6 goals while riding with them. To me that's not GREAT. He's overpaid at over $2M for a guy with 1 year of experience. You go to $1.5M but unless he can bring up that goal total to 20 he isn't worth it.

Remember Brown played with less talented players all season and racked up 18 even strength goals. That's 3 times Hyman. Guess he should be paid $6M per year. You don't have to pay them so much so quickly.

Guys on the PK are guys you should be finding at a VALUE DEAL. Remember in 2 years guys like Bozak, JVR and Komarov won't be around anymore, if you put Marner, Nylander, Matthews and Kadri in your top 6, that leaves 2 places. One could be Brown but Hyman is NOT top 6.

Wild trade is bad for them. Quantity for quality,

I don't think either of the d-men are/will be better than Folin is right now, and both are smallish. Leivo is interesting, but not sure he's a future top-6 wing. Pick are nice, but both are likely later 2nds.

I love how people are giving Hyman over $2M a year, but Leivo who put up 10 points in 13 games in just 12 minutes is being tossed in the trash for nothing, lol.

Leaf fans love hometown guys who don't produce anything (Tucker, Domi, Kypreos and so many more).

Hyman is getting some recency bias in his pay right now. He had a good Playoffs, and $2-2.5m is pretty average pay for a 3rd liner. They are paying roughtly $100k per goal and $50k per assist from last year, so not too bad overall. $1.5-$2.5m depending on the term is where he should fall.
