I meant to click 9 mil instead of 8, but 10 is doable. Lemme fix it

What else would VAN want…? Sevo is a RHD who plays top minutes.

Exactly, just extend Sevo and stay away from Garland all together. Give one of the kids a chance in the top 6 or if we are that desperate go for someone in free agency that only costs money and not a top 4 rhd/futures

Yea, that didn’t answer my question at all.

Severson is a little too old for our liking. I’ve also heard that he isn’t very good defensively so that’s a no go. He’s also looking for a raise which the Canucks would not like

He’s solid defensively. Definitely some big gaffes that the eye test hates, but he’s the second best defender on the team (behind Jonas Siegenthaler being ridiculously good on D)

I can understand age though. I think I’m trying to understand what the expectations are for the Canucks next year. Is it rebuild time, retool time, or something else?

As for the raise, I’ve heard the AAV is expected to be around 6m. Can’t really find that very often for a RHD, but not wanting to spend due to age and timeline makes enough sense to me, though he could probably fetch more than this at the deadline

Would Reilly Walsh, or adding pick #37 be more interesting? Or would a younger guy like Shakir Mukhamadulin make sense?

I think from what I’ve heard, Vancouver is looking to get younger and better but not doing a full on rebuild. I think they will still push for the playoffs next season but have made it clear they want young guys between 20-25. I think Severson +Walsh would definitely get some interest from Vancouver but I don’t really know exactly what they are looking for. There will probably be a lot of teams calling about Garland Boeser and Miller so it’s hard to predict where they end up

I would think it would be Severson OR Walsh if it’s from NJ. Two RHD should equal more than Garland in this market. And (proving against my Sevo point quite a bit lol) Vancouver doesn’t exactly have the best cap situation, which would likely drive down the price of those 3

But I definitely can say it’s hard to gauge where they may be going. Most of that roster screams retool versus rebuild, but you can never tell at first when a new GM takes the reigns

While I agree that Severson and Walsh may have more value than Garland, Vancouvers players values aren’t decreased due to cap space. The Canucks are fine with cap space at the moment. The Canucks only need to move on of the big three so they have cap space in the future. I think Miller is the first to go tbh

"If they can’t land Fiala, let's go for Zacha!"

lol no

Sens have no use for Zacha. They need a high end Winger Who would fit on Stutzle's line and that's it
