I look at the Rangers as a team making it back the the show after a long hiatus. Young players getting their first taste of action. That isn't on Gallant. Not on the team. Part of growing pains....

If anything it may highlight for Drury what is missing and what needs to be addressed.

But Gallant is a money coach. The Rangers are worth the wait....

Gallant hasn't made any changes at all. He won't even call an opportune timeout to stop the bleeding. He will roll out the same lines tomorrow to get railroaded. I think we still have great pieces and a bright future. But this guy's "just let them play" attitude doesn't work well in a 7 game series against a coach willing to strategize and exploit your weaknesses. He might not go, but we'll be back here in this position again if he survives another season into the playoffs. I don't see it happening. I doubt he makes it past the middle of next season, and if that happens it'll be another lost season and it will have been avoidable.

Something has to be going on in the locker room....Kreider's interview after game 3 was very telling...mentioning how they're not playing together and not playing smart- all the while his tone in that interview...and maybe he's not a rah rah guy...but the guy seemed beaten.

In any case I highly doubt Gallant wont be back next year- but they do need to discuss in organizational meetings the lack of back checking and the poor coverage and lack of awareness in front of their net. And while adding defensively sound players is always a good thing- I don't necessarily think this is the answer here. Deployment and gameplan (or lack of) I believe is the main culprit.
