They would have to be able to sign Portillo. Because of that uncertainty, he would only be worth a fourth round pick in this deal.c meaning the fourth would be the compensatory pick you receive in if he doesn’t sign

I don’t see any reason he wouldn’t sign with FLA,
do you?

Why would Sabres pay that much for goalie prospect, when they need established one, and such offer would be enough to trade for one.

I guess u missed where i also signed Holtby

UPL can’t seem to stay healthy
Looks like Portillo is gonna go the free agent route
And idk that Levi is ever gonna sign with us either
Knight could be a legit goalie for us for years to come

I did missed Holtby signing, but that's even worse. Trading Portillo (still an asset) and 16th pick for backup goalie. Right now, Sabres put a lot of effort into UPL and he will be the backup. He has to flop first. Getting Knight, expensive trade, meaning you are basically saying - we are done with UPL, which you have no reason to do.

But still, if UPL in deed flop, which we will know in a year, you still have opportunity to sign Portillo and Levy.

In my opinion, there is no need to trade for goalie prospect.

Knight is more than just a “goalie prospect”
He’d be a legit goalie of the future for us

Again…. UPL can’t stay healthy
And we don’t know that Levi or Portillo will ever sign
Them refusing to do so this year puts that in question

And getting Holtby for 2yrs just eases Knight into the starter role instead of dumping it on him & asking for too much too quickly

ASKING if FLA fans would trade Knight isn’t nearly the same thing as saying it would take a 2nd to get Beat

Nice try,
but another loss for you

Maybe u should quit while you’re behind
You’re just embarrassing yourself at this point
