No Cap Problems

Created by: cnick19
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 15, 2022
Published: May 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team is basically the same as last year's opening lineup. This is with only a few signings (their value can be debated) and no cap moves.

It will be tough to improve significantly upon the current team but we shouldn't really expect them to be any worse.

Look at comparable bridge deals for 1st round picks that put up those same averages and were drafted in a similar range as Timothy Liljegren (2017 R1#17 5 goals and 23 point in 62 games) and you can see Travis Sanheim (2014 R1 #17 and 9 goals and 35 points) meant 3.25M for 2 years. Now realize buying an UFA year for that 3rd year of a bridge deal costs a team more money. The contracts should be closer in AAV.

The whole point of the post is that there is less cap pressure than expected. In this roster I've bought out Mrazek and thats it for money moves. Trading Kerf and Holl gets you 5.5 mill, trading Will gets you 7.
