Edmonton is probably happy to roll with Mike Smith & Stuart Skinner if you're asking them to give up positive value for Mrazek.

His buyout would be minimal over the next 2 seasons ($1.03M and $833K), and you'd have 2 additional years of $1.43M penalties after that - the years when some of these higher paying deals for guys like Muzzin & Tavares will start falling off the books. Keep the picks, buy him out, and move on.

i am in love with that, but i'd look to keep mikeyev with engvall and kamph. maybe bring in a vet with some rings that can play up and down the lineup. is spezza hanging them up? (based on his reaction after game 7). and maybe try to find one of those "mr game 7" types who always pops up with a goal or 2 in crunch time.

but i love it, and i also feel like that's a realistic expectation for this offseason. we ain't blowing it up after taking the best team in the league to the brink (especially if tb goes on to 3-peat).
