I think the pens will try to sign geno and tanger for three u til Crosby’s deal is up. After that they can reevaluate if they want to rebuild or contend

Detroit declines

Ya, in your opinion they decline. I don’t think it’s your choice.

In my opinion it’s a fair deal and they accept it. So there.

Ya, I think Geno plays 2 more years and goes and plays and retires in Russia like he’s always said. Anyone who thinks he’s gonna sign for 6M or 6.5M is sadly mistaken. Not when Sid is making 8.7M. Both are super unselfish and have shared the team well and I think Geno will take a discount. But not that much..lol. It will be in the high 7’s.

And everything out there says Letang wants 5 and is willing to take a discount to stay. But Pens only want to go 3. I think they meet in the middle at 4:

Copy and paste

Letang and the Penguins ‘have a gap to bridge.’ This news is somewhat similar to what Pierre LeBrun talked about in December with term being a big sticking point in Letang/Penguin negotiations.

Seravalli reports that his sources indicate that Letang and his representatives have asked for a 5-year extension in the ballpark of $7 million per year. The Penguins are said to still not be willing to discuss a deal of that length.

Lol..No, its just not your decision at all. What kind of person just writes “Detroit declines”..?? With no explanation like it’s their choice in the matter.

Just because u have a jersey with your last name on the back doesn’t make u apart of the team.

And like I said, obviously I think they accept. Why else would I do the ACGM..?

Just don’t respond next time, if not something constructive..thanks in advance.

Tuomisto is our best RHD prospect and we're not trading him for Kapanen as that is essentially what it becomes. I'm lukewarm on Kapanen at best, so maybe take back someone like Givani Smith and add an additional 5th on the Detroit side and I'd consider Kapanen then. We already have too many depth forwards, so we need one going out to bring one in and Kapanen isn't even under contract, so there's that headache to deal with too, as I'm sure he thinks he's worth more than he is, just based on his last contract.
To PIT:
Smith, 3rd and 5th
To DET:
Petterson, rights to Kapanen

Ya, I understand that. And Detroit has 3 young RHD already playing welll in the NHL.

Kappy is a RFA though. He’s under team control. And even if he goes to arb hearing I bet he only gets around 2.5M per.

And Kappy at worst is a 3rd line RW(on a play-off team). How many wingers would kill for an 11 goal 32 point bad season?? That his floor. Plus he’s still just 25.

I mean, ya, good Idea, I’d probably be ok with Gianni Smith and a 3rd, 5th for Kappy and Pettersson. But I obviously would like my deal better. And I think it’s more than fair value wise. A 2nd pairing, LHD, only 25 years old plus Kappy(who we already talked about). .

But ya, to your point though, Pens have a ton of young wings better than Gianni Smith too just like u are saying about Detroit and Kappy(OConnor, Poulin, Puustinen, Nylander, Zohorna).
