Description
Trade #1: I used the St.Louis/Callahan deal as a template, Dubas hates trading prospects so I think picks is the way he'd go about acquiring a big time piece.

Trade #2: Standard 3rd team retention fee

Trade #3: Holl is a serviceable bottom pair defender, should fetch a 3rd or two mid round picks

Trade #4: Bit of a unique trade but I think the Bernier/Mrazek swap makes sense for both teams. Johnsson has underperformed a little in Jersey maybe a reunion with Toronto can turn it around for him. Abruzzese is a similar tier prospect to Anderson which was the cost for Johnsson in 2020. Again, the 4th round pick is the standard retention fee.

Trade #5: Not sure about Lehner's value at the moment, but I know Vegas fans were comfortable trading Lehner for a 2nd at the deadline. Anderson fits their mold for bottom six players and is cheap depth for them.

Trade #6: I think a Kerfoot swap for one of Oleksiak/Larsson/Soucy makes sense for both teams. I picked Larsson as he is a RHD and I figure he'd pair well with Sandin or Rielly.

True. MIGHT be able to flip him. But also, Muzzin could be a good guy to have around in CHI for all the young defensemen to learn from. He might even be a good temporary partner for Jones while the young guys develop. That all being said, I still don't think it's enough.

Yeah thats fair, I definitely think there would be better offers out there for Kane. And on Muzzin, he was really solid in the playoffs again this season I do feel like he'd be a good guy to learn from too. Leddy was a mentor guy in Detroit and Seider was a beast there this season, could see him being a stabilizing presence for a retooling/rebuilding team

But Muzzin would also have to waive his NTC for that because I doubt CHI would be on his 10 team list. If he did choose a rebuilding team, it would probably be one that is a lot closer to transitioning out of a rebuild than CHI is.

Ehh the Tax situation is more favorable in Chicago anyhow, I could see him waiving if he gets an A and management agrees to flip him at the 2023 draft. But yeah when it comes to no trade clauses it clouds up a bunch of things, which I like for the players but it sucks when your team is on majority of the lists out there LOL

I feel like a lot of those guys are going to want major money and term though, which is why I was suggesting Mrazek in the first place. He's one season removed from posting career numbers. Fair play about Blackwood though selling low on him would be a mistake in my eyes he was going to be in the running for Team Canada's 3rd stringer for the olympics IMO

I don't think teams should be willing to go "Well, maybe he's better with us..." with Mrazek without being paid to take him and hope for the best. Maybe a team like CHI would do that as they have no goalies and need a rebuild, but NJ is hoping to actually move forward, so I'll deal with term on Campbell, Husso, or trade for Lehner ourselves in a better offer than above.

I mean thats fair but goalies are voodoo, theres about 10 goalies that are consistently above a .910 each year. You dont want to be in a position where you throw money at Husso and he puts up a Grubauer-esque performance for you guys and then youll be stuck with him for longer than whatever Mrazek is currently signed for.
