Would you add a prospect if you were trading McDavid for Jack Hughes? "Taking on more cap" is no reason to add a prospect when the main part of the trade is already imbalanced.

Obviously in a case like that no. If the players are basically even and the cap hit is different and for more term on one, adding a pick or player is normal
