Well there's Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, and JT. All top 10 picks. I didn't say they suck; that's actually my point. All that talent and the team hasn't found a way to win the Cup. I don't think it's for a lack of talent that they haven't, so Bedard doesn't really help.

Can't just put people on LTIR like that, if they wanted to tank going with Mrazek and Kallgren, playing Sandin, Liljegren, and Robertson, and Marlies players for the holes in the bottom half of the line up would be the way (move Kerfoot, Holl, and Kampf, and if they can Muzzin too and play Niemela). They will probably only miss the playoffs and not have top 5 odds or even 10

Only one is 1st overall (Bedard and Michkov probably both can be 1st in a draft and be the best). That being said the Oilers drafted first so many times, they only have two of them now. Although if Bedard is all that and NHL ready, he solidifies their top 6 for cheap, and that gives more money to spend elsewhere. Even if they do win the lottery by tanking, it won't be Dubas drafting him (he wouldn't be resigned)
