Sportsnet also thinks the Cap does not apply to the leafs and they can have 50 guys on the roster.

I get that this started by playing with the Nylander trade rumor. (Which I'm not in favor of btw.) But why after freeing up Nylanders $6.9M did you then go out and give $6.3M to a much worse, and much older Palat?

palat can do amazing things in the playoffs. willy is good in the regular season and all but palat is something the leafs dont have

palat is one of the biggest reasons behind tampas playoff success

but now that you say it you are right about the overpay

Canucks are getting the worse player, the more expensive player, and giving up a pick to do so? I would do holl and a 2nd for schenn, helps your cap problems and upgrades your RD

Trades are uneven, but most importantly, how do the Leafs consider themselves a contender with that goaltending?

Thats a pretty diabolical three headed monster of guys who MIGHT be average backups
