Another cup run

Created by: Sandman
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: May 28, 2022
Published: May 28, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Holloway and Broberg start the season in the AHL to be under the Cap limit. Then after Cap space is set to start season Klefbom is put on LTIR and Holloway and Broberg are recalled.

Kane cap hit is low for what he has been producing but hoping he gets some SJ money so he won't want as much and will choose going for a cup instead.

Pysyk gives Woodcroft flexibility with a 11-7 line up as he can be shifted to D or F.

Seattle is building through the draft and thus covets their top picks. If Oilers are willing to trade their first rounder, I think Francis would listen on a package of second/third/fourth rounders, but not for Barrie. He may even be inclined to take some regrettable money off Edmonton's books for the right price. (ahem . . . Kassian!!) If I know Detroit fans on here, that package isn't getting it done to take his contract! LOL

Detroit passes, We don't want or need Zack Kassian, Samorukov and a 6th rounder is nowhere near enough to take Kassian off your hands.

Hard pass from Detroit. We're not taking Kassian off your books for an ok prospect, a garbage pick AND giving you a 4th in the process.

Out of curiosity would you take Kassian for that return? Since you are neutral in this trade.

There's no neutral while ACGMing in good ol' CapFriendly!! Come on now! lol

And absolutely I would NOT take Kassian for that return. Merely implying that when Detroit (fans) predictably say hard no to that offer, that Edmonton is welcome to look up another team with plenty of cap space! (But of course get serious with a better offer! . . . especially seeing as we are in-division!)

Foegele might be more to Francis' liking, seeing as he drafted the guy with Carolina and all. Edmonton will have to probably clear all the money they can, and Foegele is an easier out with better return likely.

You're right there is no neutral on CapFriendly. Since the Wings are my favorite team I just wanted to see if maybe I was being irrational. Thanks for the response.
