That Calgary trade is terrible for Vancouver and their fans considering he won the cup against the team 10 years ago.

As a Canucks fan I'd take that trade in a heartbeat. You get off of a questionable contract and get a 2nd for one year of an overpaid guy that brings toughness and leadership and is also a local boy.

This is exactly why the Flames won't do it, Why would they give up a 2nd to dump Lucic and be saddled with 3 years of Poolman? Especially when Lucic will be easily tradable (if he is willing), to a team with an internal cap after July 1 since the dollars owed will be under a million.

Canucks appear like they are going through some retooling and Lucic for Poolman straight up I think would be fair, we save 2.75m against the cap next year, Canucks get out of Poolman's contract and save 2.5m for teh following 2 seasons and 4.75m in actual dollars on top of it.

Ya I would take Lucic for Poolman straight up. If Calgary chooses to move Lucic I don't think they are going to have to pay to do it. If they retain salary they could actually get a really good return I'm sure.

My best guess is something like we are suggesting here, or to a team like Ottawa or Arizona after July 1 (they'd only have to pay 875k in salary as 3 of the 4 million owing is a bonus and Edmonton is still on the hook for 12.5%) for a 7th in 2025

Lucic most likely wants to stay out west, don't see him waiving to go play in the east unless its Boston.

Pens would never accept that deal unless that Miller extension was an absolute sweetheart of a deal...
