Blockbuster trade with the Sabres

Created by: Vali_Maki_Sushi
Team: 2017-18 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: May 3, 2017
Published: May 3, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Flames make a huge trade with the Buffalo Sabres. They acquire Reinhart, Nylander, 8th overall pick, Girgensons, and Lehner.

Sabres acquire Gaudreau, Bennett, and Kylington.

Reasoning for both sides:
Flames: Gets a top line potential RHS winger, and a RHS center who is big and has elite IQ. Fits with top line. Gets a 3rd line defensive center who is big and gritty, and gets their starting goalie and allows them to resign Elliott to a reasonable backup price, giving them a decent tandem. They also get an 8th overall pick that could land them their future 2nd pairing RHD in Liljegren or Makar.

Sabres: Gives them an elite winger that will fit perfectly with Eichel. Giving them a deadly all American top line of Gaudreau-Eichel-Okposo. Gives them a LHS center that would fit much better in the east in an instant top 6 role. Also gives them a great LHD prospect.

cmon man.... a starting goalie on a bad team pulling a 920SVP, a great 2nd C who has potential to play 1C, an A level prospect and probably another A level prospect for Gaudreau, a B level prospect and a struggling young C. Buf says no in a heart beat

I don't think the deal makes sense for either side but I applaud the creativity and detail you put into the trade, I had fun considering it!
I agree that Lehner would be great to add but I would not resign Elliot, if not for the collapse in the playoffs then for the fact that we lose a 3rd round pick this year if he resigns.
I hope we could get Stone for less $ than that but you're probably pretty close to what it would take at 4x$4.25M.
$3M for Ferland is way too much IMO, he only had a career high 25 points. As a comparison Bouma got $2.2M at age 25 when he had a 34 point season.
I'd love if Vegas takes Brouwer but that would be a small miracle.
Lastly I'd have no interest in Del Zotto.

BUF is set at center, so no need for Bennett. I think BUF would prefer playing Nylander over trading him for Gaudreau, but Reinhart may not be in their plans if he struggles. Kylington is interesting to move but I don't think they move Lehner without getting a replacement first.
