Off-Season Moves

Team: 2022-23 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 1, 2022

Description
Some of the decisions are what I would do and some are what I think will happen (e.g. signing Lauzon is probably what will happen rather than what I want to happen)

Let me know your thoughts. I'm very new at armchair-GM stuff (lots of unpublisghed teams though) so be critical and let me know where I went wrong or right.

Welcome to arm-chair, you're going to hate it.

In all seriousness, I don't think NSH does this. They are giving up two cost controlled players and getting 1 year of Kampf back. A future 4th round pick won't move the needle.

I'm personally a fan of Kampf and would rather not move him. This adds extra cap to TOR, but nothing to be overly concerned about.

Toronto is not trading Kampftears of joy . Kampf plays 3rd line center, why do u have him on 2nd line right wing? this team need better Defence and forward depth.

I'm fine with shifting those players honestly. The more we hold on the them the more that their lack of value becomes obvious. Do I see Poile making this move? No, but I can dream.

I agree but compare to NSH's 3rd line, Kampf is a world ahead. I'm not sure they won't trade him, it is definitely unlikely but not impossible

I’d rather keep tolvanen and just either trade myers or buy him out. We need a true 2 line winger and this isn’t it. Welcome to arm chair it’s rather addicting have fun with it

Why keep Tolvy? I'm very curious. I know some people think he will develop but I think he's stagnated here and the best move for him is to shake up the scenery. I think he has potential just not here on Broadway.

Jeannot 24 goals and Trenin 17 goals was our 3rd line wingers. I would take them over kampf on our 3rd line.

I would rather keep tolvanen over this package. Tolvanen needs to go back to focusing on his shot that got him drafted instead of a grinder. If Poile traded tolvanen I would hope it would be for someone else that needed a change of Scenery like Kravtsov

I was more referring to this 3rd line set up but I do understand. I think Jeannot keeps improving and as such I threw him on that second line. If he doesn't then I think to would be fair to say then that any Kampf deal would be a bust. These moves aren't designed to get us a cup next year but to keep us moving forward and avoid having to rebuild. I honestly believe the preds don't need to rebuild yet, but that is going to take some very deft maneuvering by whoever the GM is, and I don't trust Poile to see it through. He has been a great GM for the last 20 years but he isn't the right choice anymore.

Overall I don't think it works for either team.

TOR loves Kampf, especially for cost vs production/value. Getting 2 players back, @ higher cost, without shedding salary elsewhere just doesn't look ideal.

Thanks for your input! That seems to be the consensus. Back to the drawing board.
