Habs would accept and say no take back-sies. EDM would never offer this though unfortunately.

Habs pass big time, there is a reason Oilers fans are trying to dump Nurse. He is good offensively but just another Tyson Barrie defensively. We need/want good 2 way defenseman not one dimensional players. Have you not seen enough of the likes of Hoffman and Drouin? Now you want to add their defensive version in Nurse?! The guy is playing hurt right now. Its definitely not his best hockey right now but when he's healthy, he's the #1 dman on the Habs for the foreseeable future. Nurse is only 27 years old @ 7.75M and plays 25 mins a night. Nurse will be the same age Petry is now, when his contract ends......

Then there is also the fact the Habs are getting a 24 year old Puljujarvi, a vet G to replace Allen and a 1st and 2nd rounder out of this. All while the rebuilding Habs are losing no picks and only moving players over the age of 28...

Habs get younger, the best player in the trade AND high draft picks........ Come on now. I guarantee Habs would make this trade. I also guarantee EDM wouldn't.

1. Savard and Romanov as well as the rest of the Habs D did a superb job in containing them in 2 of the 3 meetings this season. Sure we lost all 3 games but twice were in O.T.

2. Sure he would be our #1 D but that isn't hard when you look at our current D lineup lol.

3. I would rather keep Anderson over getting Pooparty. If we are getting a goalie replacement for Allen it should be a younger one not an older one. The 1st and 2nd are so late they are more like a 2nd and 3rd.

4. We are getting slightly older not younger with this trade. The average age of our 3 is 29 where as the average age of the Oils 3 is 30.3 AND the picks are in high round but LATE in those rounds, that doesn't make them high picks.

Habs get draft picks. Check.
Habs get the best player in the deal at a better cap hit. Check.
Habs get younger. Check. (Younger where it matters - using the 1 year of Smith to make your average higher is a weak argument and you know it)

This is a no brainer for the Habs but good thing for you is EDM wouldn't never do this. So its a moot point anyway.
