CAP wise it doesnt work for the Flyers. Either CGY takes money back or Flyers need to do other deals and turns into a snowball effect.

If Tkachuk comes out and says he will only sign his QO offer, and wants to test free agency, it's a really good return. But if he does that, a team like Philadelphia is not going to trade for him anyways, because there is too big of a risk that Tkachuk walks in a year. The only teams who will trade for him are contenders.

If Tkachuk will sign an extension with a few teams, or will sign one with Calgary, it is nowhere near enough.
