A rebuilding team trading two 1sts+ isn't the best idea
Rather wait a year and try to get him. If we can't get him, plenty of other options

Pasta isn't worth a 2nd overall pick a potential top 10 pick, foote woods and tatar.

Smith trade could happen cause of cap reasons for canes but wouldn't make sense for bruins unless they go more all in rebuild.

Edmonton needs mid 6 forwards on 2-3 million dollar deals. debrusk at 4million isn't worth a first. plus he doesn't fit edmonton style of play

Gardiner could be shipped out for future considerations, and if that fails, a mid round pick. But Smith is not worth that much. Canes pass in a heartbeat.
