massive turnover hahaha. That WPG trade isn't close though. I doubt they'd do Ehlers for Holtby personally

Yeah Ehlers is probably asking too much, if he was taken out WPG would probably say yes and Caps get to keep Grubauer which could be good
WSH could really benefit from trading the rights of these guys because they're honestly all top 6 or 7 free agents

LOL. And DC would burn to the ground. :-)

This is a fun game. People get so serious and offended by these hypothetical trades, like we are REALLY GM's.

Also, putting on my Rob/Luc hat. Where do I sign for the Gaborik trade?

You don't need to trade anything to sign a UFA

Buffalo isn't trading a 1st for a guy with 1 year left on his deal unless we have an extension already worked out.

Why do we need Alzner then, if we have Carlson?

You realize the Sabres need way more than one defenseman to fix their defense, yes?

You can trade for a free agent's rights. Panthers did it with Yandle and Coyotes did it with Goligoski.

Yeah, probably not. Changed it to Flames for Dougie Hamilton. Rarely see player for player trades in today's NHL, sadly.

Yeah, this was seriously fun to ponder. If the Caps do a rebuild, I want them to do an all-out rebuild. Don't half ass it one bit. 2003-04 all over again. Which would be incredibly fun with this team.

Can't see anyone jumping to sign Daniel Winnik. But the other guys, absolutely.
