Doesn't seem to understand the conception a player being a UFA in one year. Take out those two likely lottery picks, and it's a fair deal.

Yep, why would New Jersey or any non playoff team want to give up "much" for Pasta....just to finish out of the playoffs in 22/23, and then have Pasta leave as a UFA?

Not to mention, a year of courting a 25 year old who’s about to UFA, and offering him that 8th year can be worth it.

And you think an offer of mackenzie Blackwood, gritsyuk, and two seconds are worth swayman, a 23 year old number 1 goalie, and David pastrnak, a 25 year old who has led the national hockey league in goals?
