Description

Opening night roster, masive improvements on the D while trading up to get pick no.5+grab an undderated wing in JVR. playes to their identity well, and has no handcuffs. Pick at 5 could end up as savoie, Jiricek, or Nemec, so picking up an aging Letang on a 2yr, 10M deal gives them extra breathing room for their development w/o sacrificing a talented parter for power. Klingberg is a safe go as a t4, starting as a comfy pairing to Dahlin, and maybe sliding him down later into his 6yr deal. Have Krebs around just in case of injury in your top9. Husso gets a chance at being a reliable starter, Jones played his pants off as backup in philly. Also keeps your cap super flexible, just in case you can pop a massive deal before the TDL

And here we can see example of non-sabres fan do it. Bjork on 3rd line...
JJ Peterka, Jack Quinn, Mattias Samuelsson, Payton Krebs all will be in opening day roster. UPL will be the backup.
Letang is staying with Pittsburg on that deal.
Klingberg is not the kind of defender Sabres are looking - we have young puck moving defenders, need is defensive, physical vet to pair with Power.

Getting 5th is interesting, trade seems fair. And then, with 5th target will be RHD - so no need for Klingberg.

I would certainly do that Philly trade but only if Nemec and/or Jiricek are there. If both are gone no reason to move up imo. I also hope Chelsey sneaks to us with that Florida pick, he's exactly the kind of player we need on the team
