Pretty darn sure philly's gonna move on from JVR at the minimum

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhatRas</b></div><div>Great trade partners at the draft, I don't think this is the move though. Personally I think Giordano is gone in expansion and Tkachuk is next in line for the C, he won't be moved. If the Flames are moving off of Gaudreau I think Konecny would be the piece they want back but that will cost Calgary significantly, a deal I would like to see is:
Gaudreau
Jakob Pelletier
2nd
3rd
Konecny
Patrick</div></div>
2 questions:
1- is Pelletier a true center now? I scouted his game back in his draft year, dunno how he's progressed. (I only make that deal if he's ready to take on 3C role, if not beyond ready!) I did like his game, tho
2- you're in the right mind w/ calgary's motive to make Matt the C, it's easy to forget the kraken situation each team's facing

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Tkachuk would be a great Flyer, but contract length as ilklustarated above is a huge problem. Couterier, giroux, gaudreaux and tkachuk all up for contract at same time?
PHI wouldn;t do it, although I think deal slightly favours them. I think its a one or the other gaudreau or tkachuk, with TK being cost controlled as a 60 pt player, its tough.
CGY fans would want more, but TK, Uber prospect at center Morgan Frost and a 1st is probably close to Tkachuk. IMO Tk is equal to Gaudreau alone, based on contract and production.
If a deal was to9 happen, I think its more down to TK for Gaudreau OR TK, frost and a bit more for Tkachuk, not both.</div></div>
...Well said. I had the idea as a "oh my god you better win 3 stanley cups within 3 months" idea.
...but also, Seth Jones is destined to be a Flyer Legend so I'd adjust this entire team around that

This is what's been rumored, but i'd agree.

Sell the Fkin farm I guess
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>If you see JVR and Gostisbehere as having value, then this is an overpayment by Philly. If you see them as $11.5 million in healthy scratches, then it’s probably a win for the Flyers.</div></div>
One things for certain: JVR ain't a scratch on 29 teams. The only two he's a scratch on are Tampa and Philly. The chemistry hasn't worked w/ the young core. He's still quite good. Ghost has had it rough w/ the knee problems. I think he's poised to return to form, IMHO. but how does philly give him icetime? Does Chevy see what I see? Or does he see Sanheim and say "yeah that's mine now". If philly is serious about getting Laine& signing him to stupid money for a stupid length, what does Chevy *really* want?

Sell the Fkin farm I guess
You may be wondering "oh wrow Laine's gonna get more than that" but you fail to realise that Fletcher's not trading Patrick, Frost, Sanheim, Myers, Farabee, or York. Philly has to go for their cups now while they still have top line production from G, and Hextall's rebuild picks are all highly important to that goal.
Laine's a piece that helps Therrien's PP a LOT, while he'll get a rude awakening in the system Coach Al enforces. He'll have to backcheck and have to use his feet before getting his shot opprotunities.
Ghost is undervalued to a degree that's unfair. Ghost has the skills to be a 2-3 guy on a good D, but his biggest problem? His old pairing man, Andrew MacDonald. Ghost applies the famously coined "Amac" approach to defending, which is "be the smartest player on the ice and read Every. Single. Play. Even if you fail, you at least saw it happen." This past season, he showed that he still has that shot that we all saw back in his rookie yr, and he still can maneuver his way thru forecheckers w/ grace. Get him w/ a new D coach and let him grow as a pro. It hurts to see him go.
JVR is smart. Some teammates of his call him "the smartest guy on the team". Which is a bit confusing, when looking at how he was used on this Flyers team. He gives you a lock for at least 20-some goals, with the potential of 10 or so from the man advantage. Even as Flyers fans complain about him, it's really not his fault. He came into the league on this Flyers roster as an exciting young talent, but most fans expected Kane. Ever since, he's been compared to him (to make matters worse, he was then traded for Luke Schenn). He'll never satiate the fan's appetite for an exciting fast FW who choses his spots. But instead, he thinks the game. He sees it from a POV of a guy who's huge. He knows that he's stronger than defenders when he gets to his spot. He calls plays before they happen.
Rubtsov's so young, and we all know he'll never make this Flyers Team. He's still got a high ceiling, has skill to make smart plays, and opens up space for wingers when in a pinch. He may just need the right scenario.
The "best" piece in this deal is Zamula. I think that this kid isn't far from the pros at all, all because of 1 offensice trait: he's a sniper. He finds his targets (a.k.a the back of the net), skates his way closer to the G, and once that lane opens, before the G realises, it's off his stick. He has this "eagle eye" for lanes that *will* put him in elite company down the line. Not to mention how similar his career path is to Phil Myers.
I still think that Laine being moved is a long shot, but If he moves, this is a kind of deal that seems to fit the pressing needs of both teams.

You don't care what I think, but CBJ has to add a touch more here. Beauvillier's breakout campaign this postszn isn't to be swept aside, but Bjorkstrand reallt helps the isles. Mayfield isn't what i'd call "expendable", but maybe Bjorkstand, 3rd, and someone big like Bittner makes this a headliner.

Probably the case. I chose Wallinder this time due to 2 reasons: 1- he was the pick in the Athletic's mock, and 2, his ceiling seems to be sky high, and even if he doesn't live up to it, he'll be a part of one of the most leathal Bluelines in Hockey.
A center makes total sense if they're pickinf in the top 10, but this year i see them attacking the Big Dman.
Thanks for the imput!

Flyers first picked Stolartz. Then Merrick Madsen. Then Sandstrom, Tomek, amd Fedotov. THEN Hart. And even AFTER that, have picked Ustimenko, Ersson, and Ross. 9 goalies picked, from 2012 to 2019. You can't put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to Goaltending. Sabres would be wise to pick the goalie here and create internal competition.

Good take. Don't think Yzerman's gonna go Goalie that early, he likes to go off board but i still think he's picking Rossi. LA makes more sense b/c they're loaded in the pipeline at FW, tho Q makes most sense at 2. Quick's done, won't ever be like the way he wad in 2012. I wouldn't be shocked if they go get Askarov.

What percentage you think you got right? Pls dont say 100% :tearsofjoy</div></div>
Don't see the argument for Sanderson, they're lacking in any for of depth at D. They have some B-rated guys but are lacking that "Byram/Provorov/Hughes" like prospect. Tho Sanderson is a lefty, i feel like when he cracks the lineup he'll replace Kurran. Zary's game can easily translate to wing, imho.
I'm gonna break my %correct into these categories:
1-10: 75% (drysdale, sanderson, quinn are the questions)
11-21: 80% (Holloway, Zary, Jarvis are the questions, but i seriously think CHI is gonna do whatever it takes to get him)
22-31: 50% (you'd think a lot of those teams would move those picks around, so hard to tell)
Thanks for the comment!
