You may be wondering "oh wrow Laine's gonna get more than that" but you fail to realise that Fletcher's not trading Patrick, Frost, Sanheim, Myers, Farabee, or York. Philly has to go for their cups now while they still have top line production from G, and Hextall's rebuild picks are all highly important to that goal.
Laine's a piece that helps Therrien's PP a LOT, while he'll get a rude awakening in the system Coach Al enforces. He'll have to backcheck and have to use his feet before getting his shot opprotunities.

Ghost is undervalued to a degree that's unfair. Ghost has the skills to be a 2-3 guy on a good D, but his biggest problem? His old pairing man, Andrew MacDonald. Ghost applies the famously coined "Amac" approach to defending, which is "be the smartest player on the ice and read Every. Single. Play. Even if you fail, you at least saw it happen." This past season, he showed that he still has that shot that we all saw back in his rookie yr, and he still can maneuver his way thru forecheckers w/ grace. Get him w/ a new D coach and let him grow as a pro. It hurts to see him go.
JVR is smart. Some teammates of his call him "the smartest guy on the team". Which is a bit confusing, when looking at how he was used on this Flyers team. He gives you a lock for at least 20-some goals, with the potential of 10 or so from the man advantage. Even as Flyers fans complain about him, it's really not his fault. He came into the league on this Flyers roster as an exciting young talent, but most fans expected Kane. Ever since, he's been compared to him (to make matters worse, he was then traded for Luke Schenn). He'll never satiate the fan's appetite for an exciting fast FW who choses his spots. But instead, he thinks the game. He sees it from a POV of a guy who's huge. He knows that he's stronger than defenders when he gets to his spot. He calls plays before they happen.
Rubtsov's so young, and we all know he'll never make this Flyers Team. He's still got a high ceiling, has skill to make smart plays, and opens up space for wingers when in a pinch. He may just need the right scenario.
The "best" piece in this deal is Zamula. I think that this kid isn't far from the pros at all, all because of 1 offensice trait: he's a sniper. He finds his targets (a.k.a the back of the net), skates his way closer to the G, and once that lane opens, before the G realises, it's off his stick. He has this "eagle eye" for lanes that *will* put him in elite company down the line. Not to mention how similar his career path is to Phil Myers.

I still think that Laine being moved is a long shot, but If he moves, this is a kind of deal that seems to fit the pressing needs of both teams.
