With that said, Chicago isn't the right trade candidate to trade Tatar to. They're in a rebuild and they won't trade for those types of players.

Avs accept. With retention, you can probably get a better return than Kaut.

Goaltending would be an issue if they went in with the same tandem as last year, especially since Bernier's status is unclear.
Instead of throwing Tatar and Johnsson away for next to nothing, one of them could've been used to get Vanecek out of Washington.
Neither (Luke) Hughes nor Slafkovsky (or whomever they pick at #2) should be ready for the NHL by October, they should get at least one more year of development.

Other than that it's quite good, wouldn't be too upset if this is how it shaped up for next season.
Does seem like a bit of a miss not to engage with this years forward free agent class, so many intriguing names that can make an impact. Copp, Nichushkin, Marchment etc.
