Add scoring, but prep for Staal retiring after next year so use "prove it" deals with Necas and Magiapagne (After trade, Flames can't afford to keep Gaudreau and Tkachuck and extend Mag)

Not enough to get either guy although I'd like both.

For Mang if you did get him why not sign him long-term?

For Chych - Bokk is essentially a bust at this point so not worth much, Gardiner is a cap dump, Gunler is a nice prospect but doesn't move the needle a ton as a main piece and the 2nd is a sweetener. You'd need to drastically improve this offer imo.

Like both the targets but not enough in either trade. Chychrun will take necas for sure. Mangiapane will also require further premium assets

I don't really disagree with you. One issue Calgary will be facing is needed inexpensive ways to fill out and hopefully upgrade their defense, due to the amount they will have to pay for Tkachuk and Gaudreau and to try to keep up with Edm and Colorado. I can't see how they keep Mag, but that news will get out and bidding will be higher than I propose

For both trades I try not to include Morrow, but probably would have to

If I did the trades over I would probably move Suzuki to Ariz. They are not in a win now mode, so taking on expiring salary with young prospects is good for them. Next year's draft is outstanding, so they almost don't want to improve too much. Expiring salaries and prospects are the premium....they can spend once they have a better idea of what they really have.

I would include Morrow in the trade for Mags, Calgary will need both short term and long term answers on defense....neither or which can cost much at all because they have to pay so much to keep their key offensive players

I think this makes a lot of sense. I don’t want to move morrow but if you are going to make 2 trades for premium assets he is going to have to be a piece that’s moved. Apart from necas he is the canes 2nd biggest asset as a trade chip

I think there’s quite a bit you can do before throwing Morrow in. If morrow is included in a deal it should be for a higher end goal scoring winger imo.
