Description

I can't see Detroit doing much on the ice in 22/23. They probably finish bottom 10 in the league again unless Yzerman makes a big splash this offseason, which he said he wouldn't. Figured I would look towards 23/24 when this team should be ready to compete. I'm not sure who Detroit will draft at 8 this year but I am guessing it is someone who can play center so I just created a spot for that player. They should be on the team by 23/34.
I didn't bother to sign any UFAs, target any RFAs or make any trades. I just used players within the organization already. Who else does this group need to make the playoffs in 23/24? Any recommendations on specific players is encouraged.

Wishful thinking on that LHD - I can promise you at least 1 (if not 2) of Edvinsson / Wallinder / Johansson will not be NHL ready or even NHL caliber.

If I am wrong, this team is in great shape.

They'll have to make some signings, both to make the cap floor and because I dont see Veleno as 2C/not all these young D will be ready to play. Realistically, this team can't just slow roll their way through the rebuild anymore either. Have to make some big signings eventually.

I think one of the obvious ones is Copp if they can pry him out of NY. They'll also need to get someone with some experience at LD, Petterson (PIT) and Schmidt (WPG) are always popular but maybe Yzerman can swing and get Provorov or Hague this year.

Personally I think 8x$8.5 is too much for Larkin unless he takes another step.

I get that all of those 3 likely won't be NHL ready by 23/24 and that Detroit will need to sign a few guys. I just wanted to fill the roster with guys in the organization to see where the gaps are.

No I mean ever, not just in 23/24.
