No way does Vancouver accept any trade involving Duncan Keith. Swap him out for Barrie and its a deal.

Oh I don't think so. Aside from the fact Keith is already a negative asset (liability) he has extra negatives in VAN. Would cost EDM too much to attach Keith in the trade

If goal is to improve the team going forward, this trade accomplishes that. If Brad May can go to Colorado, then Duncan Keith can go to Vancouver. Don't think Vancouver will get any better offers than this, and I bet if it were the best deal on the table Daniel would have no problems with it as he's a professional and the NHL is a business.

If this trade involves Duncan Keith it is not the best deal on the table.

It's essentially 3 first's, a 2nd, a 3rd, plus a one year cap dump... You can’t let emotions dictate decisions when your an NHL GM, it’s a business and this would be a huge offer, can’t afford to be sensitive about it.

Doesn't matter anyways though, EDM isn't offering that package for one year of JT.

He has 1 year left on his deal.. he obviously isn’t what he used to be or close. But a solid 5th D man

Though I agree JT might be there one year.

But to have him for 82 games and very deep playoff run, and probably a career high season where the entire province got behind you in the loudest barn in the league during playoffs. He MIGHT sign. If not, you got a top 25 forward for 1 season and maybe you got the city a championship too.

Doesn't matter anyways though, EDM isn't offering that package for one year of JT.

The term and the AAV aren't the issues. It's Keith himself. He'd be run out of the city. No Canuck fan wants him in Vancouver.

If Canucks fans got that type of return they would accept it. Again if Bray May can go to COL a year after the Steve Moore incident (a much more severe incident) and not get run out of town then Keith can go to Vancouver 11 years after his incident, especially if Daniel Sedin gave a public approval, which I would bet he would if it was the best offer on the table.

They wouldn't get this kind of offer, so no, they wouldn't. There's no possible way to make a Keith to Vancouver trade work.

Yes I said EDM wouldn't make this trade above... From what I am understanding your argument is, "No way does Vancouver accept any trade involving Duncan Keith", my argument is they would if the offer was right, and in this hypothetical trade the offer would be enough.

My argument is that there will never be a right offer because the ask would be too much from Vancouver to offset acquiring Keith that Edmonton, or whichever hypothetical team that has Keith's rights, will find a different team to trade with.

Haha last time I checked the fans don’t call the shots?
Remember when Manning broke Connor Mcdavids collar bone and admitted he intended to hurt him, AND THEN.. was an oiler not long after?? It’s business buddy. If it makes sense you do it.
