LA passes, Rebuilding teams don't trade young assets for aging players that have health issues.

And Andrew Copp laugh at that offer and signs elsewhere for more money and term.

Two absolutely awful trades for the SoCal teams.

Los Angeles has no interest in bringing back an aged veteran we traded away and who would be the fourth most expensive cap hit on the team, behind three actually productive players, and the idea that we would trade away Matt Roy for him on top of that is truly cuckoo. Let's even assume that Muzzin is still a second-pairing defenseman. What possible sense does it make to trade a 27-year-old #2 RD making $3.15 million for the last two years of his contract for a slower 33-year-old #2 LD making $5.625 million for the last two years of his contract?!?!?

One year of a perfectly good backup goalie is worth more to the Ducks than one year of a bottom-pairing defenseman. For one thing, we might want to re-sign Anthony Stolarz, which would be effectively impossible if we trade him away, while if we're still in a position to have to consider re-signing Justin Holl, the GM should be fired. The birthday boy is a nice B prospect, but that doesn't change the equation.
