Pens accept. This is a first I’ve seen someone do a Marino trade alone and I’m not complaining.

I can see why. As a Canuck fan, I wouldn't do that trade, even Tampa's 2023 1st is worth more than Marino alone. The 2023 draft is so highly valued right now.

Fair enough, but I think Marino’s value has def gone up. I think there could possibly be a gm out there that would send us a late first for him.

Vegas accepts. Fair value in my opinion.

His value has gone down. He had a very mediocre season and Penguins management doesn’t think very highly of him

Rangers offer a 7th round pick and old pair of Mark Messier's skates for JT Miller 50% retention plus 10 years of 1st round picks.

Do Rangers fans see Schneider as having top pairing upside? I don’t think this trade makes sense anymore after NYR traded for Copp but it’s pretty funny seeing this reaction whenever someone mentions Schneider

He had a very solid season actually and Hextall values his position in our top 4. If anything it’s the opposite, which is us being hesitant to trade him.

Logic behind each of these:
LVG: Opens up 5M cap, and 3.5M LTIR. That is worth at least a 3rd, and Canucks get an asset that they could flip at the deadline.
BOS: Bostons dline is half injured. At 25% retained, its decent value for a 3rd rounder.
NYR: Value for Miller is a first, a second, a good prospect and a roster player. Since Rangers fans think Schneider is the second coming of Brian Leetch, I’m removing the second rounder.
PIT: Need cap space to sign their UFAs, and their prospect pool is dry. Flip the pick acquired from NYR for a top 4 Dman you can partner with Hughes for at least 4 years.
EDM: Both have similar contracts and have underperformed. New change of scenery makes sense for both players.
MTL: Di Pietro is done with the Canucks. MTL may need another goalie prospect if Price retires. A 4th is a reasonable return.

It would be a late 20s pick. If the puck turned into a top 4 dman you would be happy so why not flip it for Marino? We keep our own pick, so its win-win.
